Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) works to improve the quality and availability of substance abuse prevention, addiction treatment and mental health services.
Plymouth Public Schools
The Plymouth Public School District is committed to learning and will provide a safe environment in which all staff and students reach high standards through continual improvement. The District goals of the Plymouth Public Schools are as follows: safe and drug-free learning environments, all students demonstrating proficiency in ELA and Math as measured by MCAS scores, academic success for the at-risk learner as measured by proficiency in ELA and Math MCAS scores.
Youth Health Connection
South Shore Hospital’s Youth Health Connection is dedicated to the positive mental health and physical well-being of youth.
The program advances positive youth health outcomes through knowledge sharing, risk prevention, respect, and collaboration and connectedness.
PTA
As the largest volunteer child advocacy association in the nation, National Parent Teacher Association (PTA) provides parents and families with a powerful voice to speak on behalf of every child and the best tools to help their children be safe, healthy, and successful - in school and in life.
Mass in Motion
Over half of Massachusetts adults, and one third of middle and high school students are overweight or obese. To address this problem, Massachusetts is launching Mass In Motion to prevent overweight and obesity and to reduce chronic disease – with a particular focus on the importance of healthy eating and physical activity.
FAME
The Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce in an effort to support the regional film industry growth has created F.A.M.E., the Film, Arts, Motion Picture & Entertainment initiative.
F.A.M.E. fosters the growth of the Massachusetts emerging film and production industry within the South Shore Communities we represent.
Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce
The Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce is a business organization of roughly 750 members across the lower South Shore. We exist to serve not only local business, but the community at large. How do we do that? By offering a variety of business networking opportunities; by sounding a strong voice on local and regional business issues; by offering educational seminars and special programs to our members; by developing and supporting economic development initiatives that improve the overall quality of life in the region.
Ooch World
Brett Outchcunis [ooch-KOO-nis] is a professional personality and life coach for kids: a modern-day Mister Rogers with a twist of cool. He is a TV personality without the TV show... His show is the show of life! His stage is your stage. "Ooch," as kids affectionately call him, specializes in quickly and deeply connecting with children on a level rarely accessed by other performers. His assembly programs cater to elementary and middle school students and focuses on making positive life choices for a healthy state of mind and spirit.
CADCA
CADCA's mission is to strengthen the capacity of community coalitions to create and maintain safe, healthy and drug-free communities. CADCA supports its members with training and technical assistance, public policy advocacy, media strategies and marketing programs, conferences and special events.
America's Promise Alliance
The alliance for youth. Collaborative network that facilitates volunteer action for children and youth. Founded after the President’s Summit for America’s future in 1997.
Plymouth County District Attorney
The Plymouth County District Attorney's Office is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of all the residents of Plymouth County, including our children. In an effort to protect our children, the office will continue to expand our traditional prosecutorial role to include extensive outreach and preventative programs in collaboration with our local schools and service providers.
Plymouth Police Department
The mission of the PPD is to provide for the safety of the public, the protection of life and property, to serve with integrity, to provide a well-trained professional department to the public, to treat all members of the public and all employees with respect and to strive to ensure that the PPD is the finest law enforcement agency in the commonwealth.
The Plymouth Family Network (PFN)
The Plymouth Family Network (PFN) provides support to families with children under the age of four and expectant parents living in the town of Plymouth. Programs include playgroups, family literacy activities, parent/child workshops, social outings, support groups, parent education programs and resource and referral information. All programs are free to Plymouth residents through a grant from the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care awarded to the Title 1 Department of the Plymouth Public Schools.
Jordan Hospital
Jordan Hospital is an acute care, 150-bed, not-for-profit community hospital serving 12 towns in Plymouth and Barnstable counties. With more than 30 departments, programs and services, we have the knowledge, technology and skills found in some of the best hospitals in the country, because many who work here have been trained in those hospitals.
High-Point Substance Abuse Treatment Center
High-Point Substance Abuse Treatment Center - HPTC's mission is to prevent and treat chemical dependency and provide therapeutic services for mental health issues.
Plymouth CMCA
Plymouth CMCA - Sponsored by HIGH POINT TREATMENT CENTER (HPTC), CMCA Plymouth is an active partner of the PYDC & Community Health Network #23, South Shore Partners in Prevention. CMCA is a national model of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration which focuses on reducing adolescents’ access to alcohol by changing policies and practices that address underage drinking. CMCA stands for Communities Mobilizing for Change on Alcohol.
CMCA Plymouth is in the process of building community support for the project and the PYDC. After gathering information from all segments of the community through one on one conversations and focus groups, a Strategy Team will be created to develop an Action Plan for the Town of Plymouth. The Strategy Team will be a sub-group of the PYDC and will offer another avenue to be involved in to help build the healthiest futures for Plymouth’s youth. For more information, contact Linda S.
